Monolith is a sculptural planter defined by mass, structure, and visual weight.
Its stacked, faceted geometry reads as carved rather than formed, built from sharp planes and deep recesses that hold shadow as much as light. As the day shifts, contrast settles across the surface, reinforcing a sense of depth, permanence, and stillness.
The piece is printed as a single, seamless form and hand finished to a soft, stone-like matte. An integrated water-catch platform sits exposed at the base, intentionally visible as part of the structure. Excess moisture collects naturally below, protecting surfaces while visually grounding the form without the need for a separate saucer.
Monolith is designed to be planted directly, encouraging a hands-on relationship with the object and the plant it holds. It is intended to be used, not staged.
Well suited for sculptural greenery, palms, ferns, or slow-growing statement plants that benefit from a grounded presence. Its compact proportions and solid stance allow it to anchor a shelf, desk, or windowsill without overpowering the surrounding space.
Dimensions and construction:
The planter measures approximately 7 inches tall and 8 inches wide and long. It is made from lightweight, moisture-resistant, plant-based PLA with a matte finish and includes an integrated water-catch base.
Production:
Printed and hand finished in small batches in a studio in Toronto, Canada. Each piece is made to order.
